WE UNDERSTAND THAT IT CAN BE A LITTLE INTIMIDATING to find your way around a new place. To help visitors become familiar with our church, friendly members and staff are on hand to help you find your way around. If you have any questions, just look for the welcome crew with the green lanyards once you arrive. We look forward to meeting you at one of our gatherings throughout the week!
Every week, Sycamore View offers a Sunday morning worship gathering in our worship center at 10:15 am. We believe there's something very special about being in a community of believers to help encourage you on your faith journey. Read the paragraph below to find out more about our worship gatherings.
SUNDAY BIBLE CLASSES
We also offer Sunday Bible classes
that meet before our worship gathering at 9:00 am.
At Sycamore View, we want to cultivate a thriving environment of discipleship where we can dig deeper into God’s word. This is why our plan for adult education focuses a unified curriculum called Crosswalk. Our goal for Crosswalk is to create a more holistic spiritual habitat that is challenging, exciting, and matures all believers.
The first thing you will probably notice is that there are no instruments. That’s not an accident. While Sycamore View has no problem with instrumental worship, we come from a rich heritage of vocal music that emphasizes simplicity, participation, and community. Kip Long and our praise team sing a mix of contemporary and traditional songs that help those worshipping to rejoice and reflect. Most guests are inspired by the blend of harmonies and the sheer volume of hundreds of voices lifted in praise!
COMMUNION & OFFERING
Every Sunday, we celebrate Jesus’ body and blood through a meal involving bread and grape juice. We call it communion, but some may call it the Lord’s Supper, the Eucharist, or an Agape Feast. The purpose of this celebration is three-fold: to remind the church of the new covenant with God through the sacrifice of Jesus, to live transformed because his power is at work within us, and to remain connected to other disciples. We also take up a weekly offering to help advance God's Kingdom both locally and abroad. As a guest, you are not expected to make an offering. Offerings are made by our members as part of their commitment to God and the church.
Many members participate in worship during one hour and a Bible class the other hour. Whether you are new to the faith or someone with many Bible classes under your belt, there is a class perfect for you. In addition to our adult Bible classes, there are classes geared toward younger age groups such as middle-school and high-school students.
WHAT TO WEAR
On Sunday morning, you will see people dressed in a wide range of attire from jeans to dress clothes. We want everyone to feel at home. At Sycamore View, we care more about your heart than your clothes.
WHAT TO BRING
The main thing we’d love for you to bring is an open heart. If you have a Bible, we’d love for you to bring it. If you do not have a Bible, we will help provide you with one. Many of our members also use a free Bible app that can be downloaded here
Children are very important at Sycamore View. You are more than welcome to have your children in our gatherings, but if you would like a “wiggle-free” worship time, our children’s ministry offers Toddler Time for kids ages two to three. After our children are invited to the stage to give during the service, someone on stage will instruct you to take your child to the lobby and check them in at one of our Children's Ministry kiosks. Your children will be in a safe, friendly environment where they can learn more about God! Remember have your barcode ready to pick up your child after our worship gathering ends. If you have any further questions, please contact Danielle Lair, our Children's Minister.
As a visitor, you are our honored guest. The visitor's parking area is located in front of the main entrance (beside our church sign). Members may park to the side or behind the building.
