Visiting the View...What to wear: On a typical Sunday most folks at the View wear jeans and T-shirts, skirts and sweaters, casual pants and golf shirts, suits and dresses. What you wear is not important to us. We’re just glad you’re here. What to bring: The main thing we’d love for you to bring is an open heart. If you have a Bible, we’d love for you to bring it. There is something powerful and personal when you read from your own Bible. *If you do not have a Bible, we’ll help you get one. When you arrive: We have a designated Guest Parking lot in the back for our guests. Please visit the Information Center (I-POD) – in the main foyer of the worship center. There you will find information about class offerings, locations, and times. What to do with children... We take great pride in caring for your children, and we want them to have a wonderful, growing experience each time you bring them. We have many options for you to choose from, depending on the times you visit with us. In our Gatherings: You are more than welcome to have your children in our gatherings, but if you would like a wiggle-free worship time, our children’s ministry offers its services. During the Gatherings (8:00 am and 10:45 am): A well-staffed nursery is available for children 6 weeks-2years. We have a room for nursing mothers. Children’s offering: We invite the kids to bring their money to the front and put it in a basket. You may accompany them if they are shy. After the children’s offering, we dismiss them to preschool Bible Hour (ages 2-4) During Bible Classes (9:30 am): Our teachers create a nurturing environment for each child to learn the wonderful stories of God and his love for us. Our Children’s Ministry offers Bible Classes for children 0-5th grade. Our Youth Ministry offers a great time of worship, fellowship and study at 9:36 in the gym. Family Factory Program occurs during the Late Gathering (10:45 am):Family Factory is for Kindergarten-5th grade and their parents are encouraged to join them. Parents and children are dismissed around 11:15 am during the late gathering. Gatherings What times are your gatherings?
Sunday Morning at 8:00 am and 10:45 am Most every Sunday Family Factory occurs at 11:15 am. Parents and children are dismissed from 10:45 am gathering
Wednesday Evening at 1:00 pm and 7:00 pm
Sunday Morning Classes are at 9:30 am What is the difference in the two? Both gatherings are identically structured. The only difference is the time. How long does a gathering last? Typically we are together for an hour and fifteen minutes. On the Screen:You will notice several slides of events and information that are also highlighted in the worship bulletin. As our worship time begins, all of the songs, scriptures, illustrations, video clips, and sermon points will be displayed on the screen for convenient viewing. Music: The first thing you will probably notice is that there are no instruments. That’s not an accident. We come from a rich heritage of vocal music that emphasizes simplicity, participation, and community. Kip Long and our praise team sing a mix of contemporary and traditional songs that lead worshipers to rejoice, reflect, and refocus. Most guests are inspired by the blend of harmonies and the sheer volume of hundreds of voices lifted in praise. Scripture:We believe in the power of the Word of God and we will use several passages from the Bible to illuminate our worship journey each Sunday. Most of our passages are read from the New International Version by one of our members.
Prayer: We believe there is power in praying to God. He listens to his children praying! We offer prayers of praise, remembrance, guidance, repentance and encouragement throughout our worship gathering. Communion: Each week we share communion with the Lord and you are invited to join us. The night before Jesus died, he ate a meal with his disciples. He took some bread and passed it to everyone to eat. He then took some wine and passed it to everyone to drink. He asked them to remember him every time they ate the bread and drank the cup. As we share the Lord’s Supper each week, we remember the life, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. As the body of Christ, we also remember our connection to one another. Offering: Everything we have comes from God. We cheerfully give each week to join God in his work. Although visitors are not expected to give, we encourage you to experience the blessing of giving to God, Message: You can count on solid, relevant, biblical teaching that will build and stretch your faith. Open your heart and your bible and prepare to receive a word from the Lord. Invitation: After the message we offer an invitation. This is a time of response to Jesus as He invites you to be changed. If you would like the prayers of the whole church, one of our shepherds will meet you in the front of the auditorium. He will talk with you, present your request to the church, and pray for you. If you would like to speak with a shepherd one on one, one of our shepherds will receive you at the back of the worship center. They will gladly find a quiet room to talk and pray with you. Bible Classes: We offer classes for all ages and stages of life. Our primary objective for these groups is to grow closer God through a deeper understanding of his Word. Our teachers are knowledgeable and creative as they guide each group through the treasures of Scripture. Class offerings and locations. For a list of classes offered, click here. Times: Our Bible Classes are from 9:30-10:30 am
