Rick Kendall, Room 5239, neighbor of Doug and Donna Davenport, experiencing neck and back pain due to a mass inside his spinal cord; tests from lumbar puncture have come back pointing towards infection; drew 4 vials of spinal fluid but it could take up to a week for all the results to come back; may need to have a biopsy and decompression of the area around it to have longer lasting pain relief; would prefer to not undergo surgery due to the high risks that come with that type of surgery; requests prayers that the results will allow the medical team to know what they are dealing with so they know best how to treat it.

Catherine Laffoon, Room 514, friend of Sherri Rogers, has been transferred to a rehab hospital as she continues to recover from surgery on August 5th due to a fall resulting in traumatic head injury; is doing better and able to walk unassisted, but still struggling with her speech; requests continued prayers for comfort physically and emotionally as well as healing and a complete recovery.

Zach Rogers and Meghan Beal Rogers in their recent marriage in Montana on Monday, September 14th. Parents, Kevin and Sherri Rogers, along with grandparents, Dennis and Jan Rogers, were also able to attend.

SYMPATHY IS EXTENDED TO:

Carol Jones and Family, in the death of her mother, Mattie Pearl Patterson, on Wednesday, September 16th. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.

Courtney Long and Family, in the death of her grandfather, Marshall Glenn, on Sunday morning, September 13th. The Funeral Service was Saturday, September 26th, at Boulevard Church of Christ, 4439 Elvis Presley Blvd., Memphis, TN 38116.

PRAYERS REQUESTED:

Bettye Long, is now at KDS, Room 253, following a hospital stay at St. Francis in Bartlett; continuing to recover from multiple back fractures that were not a result of a fall; requests prayers for minimal pain and quick healing.

Lisa Hinton, aunt of Carissa Burdette, continuing to recover from surgery after being diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer of the duodenum where all of the cancerous masses were removed and the organs repaired as best they could be; pathology report came back and they will be placing a port in her to receive twice weekly chemotherapy over the next 12-18 months; requests prayers for minimal pain, strength, comfort, and a complete recovery.

Leslie Whiteside, thankful that God is her Father in heaven and requests prayers for her son and two friends’ sons to repent and return to worshiping and serving God; for herself to be able to have better balance, confidence, courage, stamina, and strength to walk unassisted inside and outside; for her friends who are suffering from falls, illnesses, and other problems; and for her church, city, and country to be blessed beyond belief!

Wayne and Anita Ray, have both have been diagnosed with COVID after returning from a cruise trip recently; experiencing bad headaches and new symptoms each day; Wayne has respiratory symptoms, but started a prescription for that last week; requests prayers for minimal pain and quick healing.

Sherry Kendall, neighbor of Doug and Donna Davenport, follow-up regarding her thyroid surgery last week went well; no follow-up needed until December 8th; requests prayers for continual and complete healing.

Joy Morton, mother of Elaine Morton, has returned home from the hospital, but has now been diagnosed with multiple myeloma as she continues to recover from sepsis; chemo began last Thursday, September 24th; requests prayers for complete healing.

Martha Benafield, aunt of Veronica Veltman, has had a few more minor falls, but is able to walk slowly without help; Veronica is staying with her full time for now and Martha’s son, Dale, and his wife will be with her at times when Veronica has errands to run, however that help is limited as they have no transportation; requests continued prayers that she is able to regain strength and feel much better soon.

Ben McCormick, is no longer receiving any chemo, only monthly immunotherapy and shots that keep his blood platelets up; oncologist said he is doing quite well with this routine; tumor has not grown at all and his energy is returning slowly but steadily; requests prayers for continued health and for a safe trip near the end of October when they travel to New Jersey to see family.

Jack Johnson, father of Carissa Burdette, has been diagnosed with Stage 4 prostate cancer and has been doing well as he continues to receive radiation treatments which will continue daily for nine weeks; treatments are scheduled for around mid-day, so he can work in the mornings and recover in the afternoons; if everything goes according to plan, the last treatment will be on November 11th; requests prayers for strength and comfort during weeks of treatments and complete healing.
