HOSPITALS:  

ENCOMPASS REHAB HOSPITAL, 1201 Fleming Ave., Jonesboro, AR 72401 (870-932-0440)
Catherine Laffoon, Room 514, friend of Sherri Rogers, has been transferred to a rehab hospital as she continues to recover from surgery on August 5th due to a fall resulting in traumatic head injury; is doing better and able to walk unassisted, but still struggling with her speech; requests continued prayers for comfort physically and emotionally as well as healing and a complete recovery.

Liz and LaTesha Coleman in the death of their sister and aunt, Laurissa Morten, on Saturday, October 3rd, in Nashville, TN. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.

Family and friends of Tyler Hinson, former attendee of SV and brother of former member, Elaina Hinson Thomas, who passed away last night, October 4th, from Stage 4 lung cancer; Tyler had 3 daughters, ages 15, 2, and 2 months old. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.

Carol Jones and Family, in the death of her mother, Mattie Pearl Patterson, on Wednesday, September 16th. A service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, October 10th, at Beulah Baptist Church, 2407 Douglass Avenue, Memphis, TN 38114, with the viewing scheduled to begin at 10:00 am and the Celebration of Life to begin at 11:00 am. A repast will follow the service in the lower level of the church.

Courtney Long and Family, in the death of her grandfather, Marshall Glenn, on Sunday morning, September 13th. The Funeral Service was Saturday, September 26th, at Boulevard Church of Christ, 4439 Elvis Presley Blvd., Memphis, TN 38116.

SHOWER SCHEDULED FOR:  

PRAYERS REQUESTED:  

Tim Phillips, scheduled for an invasive spinal surgery on Thursday, October 8th, at OrthoSouth Surgery Center in Germantown to create more room for the nerves that are being squeezed; will be under general anesthesia with an estimated operating time of 60 minutes and should be discharged to go home the same day; requests prayers for a successful surgery and a quick recovery time followed by complete healing. 

Shawn Coleman, online guest, requests prayers over her brother’s job situation and his knee and also for her uncle and his wife as he had a heart attack and needs surgery for a blood clot; also prayers over various medical situations that led to her mother’s death; and also prayers for health issues that several members of the family are currently experiencing.

Mike Sasseen, former member of SV; now lives in Idaho and has asked for prayers regarding a minor procedure that he is scheduled for on Wednesday, October 7th; requests prayers for a successful procedure and good results.

Rick Kendall, neighbor of Doug and Donna Davenport, now at home from hospital after it was determined that his neck and back pain was due to a bacterial infection, Toxoplasmosis, which will be treated with antibiotics and followed up with MRI(s) to measure success which can be done with home recovery and clinical follow ups; expresses deep gratitude for all the prayers that have been prayed over him and his family; requests continued prayers for successful treatment and a complete recovery. 

Maggie Bradley, 4-year-old daughter of a friend of Becky Blalock; has Nonketotic Hyperglycinemia and is in and out of the hospital often; was transferred to Children’s of Alabama in Birmingham due to serious breathing problems and a collapsed lung; requests prayers for strength, comfort, and healing for Maggie and prayers for strength and peace for Maggie’s mother, Sarah, who is taking care of her and for Sarah’s parents who are caring for her two other young children.

Bettye Long, is now at KDS, Room 113, following a hospital stay at St. Francis in Bartlett; continuing to recover from multiple back fractures that were not a result of a fall; requests prayers for minimal pain and quick healing.

Lisa Hinton, aunt of Carissa Burdette, continuing to recover from surgery after being diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer of the duodenum where all of the cancerous masses were removed and the organs repaired as best they could be; will be placing a port in her to receive twice weekly chemotherapy over the next 12-18 months; requests prayers for minimal pain, strength, comfort, and a complete recovery.  

Leslie Whiteside, thankful that God is her Father in heaven and requests prayers for her son and two friends’ sons to repent and return to worshiping and serving God; for herself to be able to have better balance, confidence, courage, stamina, and strength to walk unassisted inside and outside; for her friends who are suffering from falls, illnesses, and other problems; and for her church, city, and country to be blessed beyond belief!

Joy Morton, mother of Elaine Morton, has returned home from the hospital, but has now been diagnosed with multiple myeloma as she continues to recover from sepsis; chemo began on Thursday, September 24th; requests prayers for complete healing.
