We rejoice over the baptism of Kip Davenport today, July 26th, at Sycamore View Church. Kip is the son of Shannon Davenport.
CONGRATULATIONS ARE EXTENDED TO:
Glenn and Marie Hailey and Family in the birth of their great grandson, William Robert Beese, Jr., on Thursday, July 23rd, weighing 7 lbs. 1 oz. and was 21” long. Will and Hailey Beese are the proud parents.
Rick and Susan Crawford in the birth of their grandson, Rhett Daniel Armstrong, on Wednesday, July 22nd, weighing 7 lbs. 6 oz. and was 21 inches long. Daniel and Megan Armstrong are the proud parents.
SYMPATHY IS EXTENDED TO:
Carrie Allen and Family in the death of her mother, Carole Vorgity, a former member of Sycamore View, on Sunday, July 19th. The Celebration of Life was on Saturday, July 25th, at Sycamore View Church of Christ.
Doris Foree and Family in the death of her husband, Paul Foree, on Monday, July 13th. The Funeral Service was Wednesday, July 15th, at Cypert Church of Christ, 2222 Highway 318, Marvell, AR 72366. There will be a Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 29th, at Sycamore View Church of Christ, 1910 Sycamore View, Memphis, TN 38134, with a reception to follow at the same location.
Sue Newbill and Family in the death of her brother, Charles Gibbons, on Wednesday, July 15th. The Funeral Service was Monday, July 20th, at Maury City Church of Christ, 6792 TN-88, Friendship, TN 38034.
Saylor McCoy and Family in the death of Saylor’s boyfriend’s mother, Kay Phillips, on Tuesday night, July 14th, after a lengthy illness. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.

PRAYERS REQUESTED:
Connie Cole, neighbor of Grant and Laura Moore, is currently in hospital dealing with vertigo and high blood pressure issues; requests prayers for her balance and blood pressure to return to normal.
Sherry Kendall, neighbor of Doug and Donna Davenport, has returned to the hospital and is recovering from additional surgery due to an infection following the removal of thyroid nodules on Thursday, July 16th; prayers requested for a quick and complete recovery.
Mallory Gatlin, is scheduled for a double mastectomy with reconstruction on August 3rd on an outpatient basis at Baptist Women’s Hospital; at this time, no chemo or radiation is expected as the breast cancer is noninvasive; requests prayers for a smooth surgery and a quick recovery.
Bobby Nations, now at home recovering from a small stroke Thursday night, July 16th, after his Tuesday aneurysm repair procedure that gave him double vision which has already significantly diminished; vision is expected to fully recover and he has not had double vision in the past several days; had another incident on Saturday morning, July 18th, where he had to return to hospital as he had trouble with coordination, moving, and speech, but the clot that gave him these symptoms did not cause an actual stroke; he was discharged on Sunday and so far everything is good for now; requests continued prayers that the stent stays in place and there are no additional complications.
Jeff Cozzens, is now at home as of Saturday, July 18th, as he continues to recover from back surgery on Thursday, July 16th; doctors were encouraged with the procedure, however Jeff is still experiencing quite a bit of pain and has requested no visitors at this time; requests prayers that pain will subside and for a quick recovery.
Carolee Hamilton, mother of Donna Davenport, is now back at her home continuing to recover from a fractured neck bone due to a fall several weeks ago; will continue her rehab at home with a local caregiver and family members; requests prayers for minimal pain and quick and complete healing.
Rick Kendall, neighbor of Doug and Donna Davenport, is currently scheduled for a bone marrow transplant at Baptist East Hospital with hospital admission on Sunday, August 9th, for preconditioning and transplant followed by several weeks of hospital observation; requests prayers for a successful transplant and a complete healing.
Tim Phillips, recovering from a liver biopsy on Monday, July 13th, due to possible cirrhosis; has received partial results, but continuing to wait on more information; may also soon undergo a dry eye treatment on his left eye; recently had a second cataract surgery on his right eye and an upper GI (EUS) procedure; requests prayers for good outcomes in all his procedures.
Martha Benafield, aunt of Veronica Veltman, had an appointment on Thursday, July 16th, at West Clinic to begin her Jak 2 cell treatments every two weeks to lower her red and white blood cells and platelets with a new Jak 2 inhibitor that will hopefully not make her so fatigued; also planning an appointment with her eye doctor and working on getting hearing aids; thankful that she now lives with Veronica so she can be helped with her daily care; requests prayers for her quality of life to improve.
Ed Smith, son-in-law of Carolyne Bobo, recovering from knee replacement surgery on Friday, July 10th, at a hospital in Seattle, Washington, and has now started physical therapy; requests prayers for minimal pain and complete healing.
Leslie Whiteside, requests prayers for her son and two friends’ sons to repent and begin worshiping and working for the Lord; for herself that she will soon be able to walk inside a building/house unassisted and outside with her cane or light rollater; and for our city and country to return to the place of innocence, kindness, and love for each other that she has experienced most of her life.
Ben McCormick, began his third round of chemo last week regarding the tumor in his liver and also continues to experience fatigue; Ben’s elderly cousin that he and Gena were caring for in their home is now in a nursing home in Kentucky; requests continued prayers for Ben’s health and the health of his cousin.
