HOSPITALS:  

REGIONAL ONE HEALTH, 877 Jefferson Avenue, Memphis, TN 38103 (901-545-7100)
Catherine Laffoon, TICU Room 18, friend of Sherri Rogers, suffered a traumatic head injury due to a fall and was airlifted from Paragould, AR to Memphis; underwent surgery on Wednesday, August 5th; has been on a ventilator, but is currently trying to wean herself from needing the ventilator; is thankful for the improvements so far and requests prayers for comfort physically and emotionally as well as healing and a complete recovery.

Rick Kendall, Room 5229, neighbor of Doug and Donna Davenport, bone marrow transplant last Thursday, August 13th, was successful; will remain at the hospital for observation for several weeks following the procedure; requests prayers for a quick and complete healing.

CONGRATULATIONS ARE EXTENDED TO:  

Fred and Jackie Collier in the birth of their great-granddaughter, Anais Collier, on Thursday, July 2nd, in San Antonio, TX, weighing 8 lbs. and was 21 inches long. Jacob and Catarina Collier are the proud parents.


SYMPATHY IS EXTENDED TO:  

Chris and Rachel Galbreath and Virginia Simmons in the death of Chris’ brother and Virginia’s nephew, Phillip Galbreath, on Tuesday, August 18th, after an extended battle with pancreatic cancer; Chris was with Phillip in New York in hospice care when he passed. A memorial is planned for Saturday, September 5th, at St. John the Divine Cathedral in New York City. 

Anna Likens and Family in the death of her father, Steve Moser, on Monday, August 10th. There was a small family service on Friday, August 14th, in Austin, TX. A Celebration of Life is planned for later in October in Manhattan, KS, with extended family and his community.

Doris Foree and Family in the death of her husband, Paul Foree, on Monday, July 13th. The Funeral Service was Wednesday, July 15th, in Marvell, AR. There will be a Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 29th, at Sycamore View Church of Christ, 1910 Sycamore View, Memphis, TN 38134, with a reception to follow at the same location.  


SHOWER SCHEDULED FOR:  

Wedding Shower for Caleb Hinkle and Tessa Mullinix on Sunday, August 30th, from 2:00 - 3:30 pm in the front lobby at Sycamore View Church at 1910 Sycamore View Road, Memphis, TN 38134; they are registered at zola.com.


PRAYERS REQUESTED:  

Mary Beth Jones, requests prayers as she deals with a tear and detachment in her right eye; has been to doctor multiple times and recently had a laser treatment on that eye which allowed a little improvement, but the doctor is not sure about complete recovery; still experiencing some detachment and gas bubbles that come with the treatment and her depth perception is off; requests prayers for a complete recovery in her eye so that she will be able to see clearly soon.

Leslie Whiteside, thankful for the abundant blessings in her life and that she can return blessings to others without regard to race, gender, religion, or any other matter that would cause division; also desires to learn that her son and family are serving and worshiping God as well as the sons of two friends and that she will soon be able to walk to her car with her cane or rollater and unassisted when inside; also prayers that our city and country can return to being a Christian nation.

Chad Perry, requests prayers as he is currently dealing with financial problems due to unemployment resulting in losing his apartment, his car breaking down with no means to have it repaired, and no money available for food; requests prayers for guidance as he realizes his “current ways” are not working and prayers that he is able to soon find employment.

Russ and Liana Nixon, as they and their families continue to deal with multiple issues and difficulties; requests prayers for guidance and strength.

Van Jones, father of Jamie Sowell, now at home following hospital stay for pneumonia; still has a bit of a way to go before he is healthier and requests prayers for a complete recovery.

Joy Morton, mother of Elaine Morton, now at home from hospital and continuing to recover from sepsis; strength is coming back little by little; requests prayers for complete healing.
